About Us

A seed was planted in my General Engineering class in college: we had the opportunity to design a simple CAD model and print it on a revolutionary new (at the time) 3D printer. Nevermind the printer took up most of a grad student’s office, and cost more than the average house at the time…

Skip ahead to 2016, and printer resolution had reached a point that model railroading could use. I had been wanting to see a string of the signature Rio Grande offset GS gondolas, so I took all of those years drafting as an engineer, and a Form 2 printer, and worked out how to make my fleet. The rest you will find here.

I’ve had a lot of support on the way, and a lot of learning, usually by trial and error. I want to encourage everyone to go out and make what they are passionate about, and share the history and learning with the world.
