HO Scale KCC 100t Solid Bottom Ore Car Double Kit

$90.00

Bonsall Scale Carshops is pleased to announce a new HO scale 3D printed kit offering for Kennecott Copper Company 100 ton solid bottom ore cars. This offer is for TWO (2) cars worth of kits.

Prototype History - These cars were purchased from Pressed Steel Car Company in 1929 (UCCX 500-599) and in several batches from 1937 to 1943 (UCCX 600-1324) for use in Utah, transferring low grade copper ore from the Bingham Canyon mine to the hydrometallurgical processing mill in Magna, UT. They lasted in service through the transition to electric traction in 1947, with replacements arriving in the 1960s.

These HO scale kits are designed from period folio drawings and photographs, and include the appropriate vertical brake staffs used until replacement in the 1960s, and the 100t Vulcan clasp brake truckframes.

This is also the first release in a newer, more forgiving resin formulation (grey), which has improved durability and reduced brittle fractures significantly.
